Rage Software has released an update for WebDesign, bringing it to version 2.5. WebDesign is a Mac based Web development tool designed for creating Web sites by visual means. The update features interface mods and expanded preview options. According to Rage Software:

Combining a drag and drop interface allowing for visual creation of HTML elements with a feature rich text editor. WebDesign offers advanced Web site management tools including a built in Site Manager to keep track of Web sites locally as well as an FTP client to get your Web site up and running on the world wide Web. WebDesign's supports a wide variety of Web languages including HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, ASP and more.
WebDesign 2.5 focuses on an improved Mac OS X interface with all new icons and less window clutter. Taking advantage of Mac OS X built in Web page rendering, WebDesign 2.5 includes extensive preview options with the ability to preview server side scripting languages such as PHP directly within the application.
You can find more information about the WebDesign update at the Rage Software Web site. WebDesign 2.5 is free for registered users, while the full version is available for US$29.95.
Observer Comments
I've been looking at this product for a day or two and am considering purchasing it. Is the "free" version really free? What kind of environment does it have to, say, write PHP (which I'm hoping to learn soon)?
Does anyone out there have any real-world experience with WebDesign?
It sure looks good.
